Kathryn Damon-Dawson
Kathryn is a working artist who typically paints in series such as “Bird Dialogues” and “Barefoot on the Beach.” “Dogs, Crows and the Corn-Chip Dance” is her first published children’s book. “Just Be-Caws Cards” is one of several card lines.
Exposure to the arts began early through an excellent public school program in New York State and continued at Brockport State, where she minored in art. She took classes at Akron Art Institute while a student of Speech-Language Pathology at Kent State University, Ohio. Early retirement in 1990, gave Kathryn the gift of time to follow her passions and to take periodic water-media workshops; first with Virginia Cobb and most recent with Ted Nuttall. Kathryn is an award-winning artist with Watercolor Society of Oregon. She is a founding member/owner, of Backstreet Gallery.
Inspirations from observations of nature and of our youngest generation, become shapes within compositions painted with professional quality paint on 140 lb. cold press and 300 lb. hot press watercolor paper.
Kathryn’s studio overlooks Siltcoos Lake and gives her the space to follow her muse.
