Little Dickens Winners

​

Backstreet Gallery’s annual Little Dickens miniature art show proved a great success with a number of mighty minis. Juror Michael Wood judged the Little Dickens show. He expressed that he wished he had more ribbons to award, since so much of the art was of such high quality.


Here are the winners for two-dimension:

  • 1st place went to Soaking Up The Sun, a watercolor by Julie Strecker

  • 2nd place went to, The Storms Allure, a photograph by Amy Rickford

  • 3rd place went to Morning Calm at Honeyman Park, an oil by Caroline Estill. 

 

And here are the three-dimension winners:  

  • 1st place went to There She Blows, a glass jewelry piece by Pattie Williams

  • 2nd place went to Five Little Fishes, clay on wood by Geraldine McMahan 

  • 3rd place went to Castle on The Bay, a mixed media by Bill Johnson. 

  • Jane Connelley and Betsy Norris each received Honorable Mention.

 

Backstreet would like to thank all the entrants for enriching the gallery with their outstanding work.  Don’t miss this marvelous mini show at Backstreet Gallery 1421 Bay Street, which will be displayed through January 4.

The People’s Choice at Backstreet 

​

Two additional ribbons were awarded to amazing small art pieces at Backstreet Gallery’s Little Dickens Miniature show. Marsha Horner won the People’s Choice ribbon for her delicate watercolor, “The Quilt”.  Bill Johnson created “Castle on the Bay” a unique mixed media three-dimensional piece.

There is still time to enjoy this annual show of marvelous mini works though December at the gallery, 1421 Bay Street, open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
