The dazzling jewelry created by Jacklon Manzanares is featured during September at Backstreet Gallery, 1421 Bay Street. In her honor, a reception will be held on September10th, 3-5PM during the Second SaturdayArt Tour.

Since 2003, Jacklon has brought her artistic skills to Florence. Once adept with watercolors, she became fascinated with gemstones when a friend gifted her with a collection of exotic beads.

 

Jacklon insists on hand selecting her beads from fine quality gemstones, pearls, turquoise, coral, Austrian crystals and more. She then combines these with sterling silver, gold filled, brass, and copper that she hammers, twists and forms into exceptional pieces. Linking each special natural stone to a complimentary metal, she produces dramatic and distinctive pieces with which to take an outfit from ordinary to extraodinary.

Jacklon loves to travel and especially when it’s a cruise, which gives her an opportunity find unique material for expanding her line of jewelry. Having just returned from a buying trip in California, her new work is sure to impress.

 

It’s no wonder her elegant pieces are worn in London, France, Japan, Canada and throughout the United States.

 

Stepping into Jacklon’s home or out into her garden, you will see that her innovative artistry extends beyond her Backstreet displays of jewelry.

 

When she is not creating great necklaces and earrings, you might find her walking or spoiling Zoey, her adorable little Bichon Frise.

   

September 10 be sure and join Jacklon and other Backstreet artists for a delicious spread of food, drink and fun. Local Talent, Steve McVay will be playing Celtic fiddle, guitar and adding vocals with his own amazing back-u system.  He delivers soulful renditions of many of the greats along with his own compositions.
