Jayne Smoley

Jayne currently resides in Florence OR. Art has always been present in her life, working and teaching in many mediums. Recent work in textiles took her to several International Quilt Markets resulting in sales of her work throughout the United States, Australia and Canada.

​

Currently she is working exclusively with kiln formed glass. Thus far her journey in glass has included instruction with Bullseye glass in Portland OR, local glass artists and extensive personal study and experimentation.

​

The key ingredients that led to Jayne’s distinctive style are colors, form and lines inspired through textiles and architecture. “Working with glass has been extremely challenging and tons of fun. It has taught me to accept both the qualities and limitations of working in this medium and go with the flow so to speak to allow it to reveal and express its inherent properties.”

​

She is a member of the Oregon Glass Guild. Her work can be found in many private collections thought Oregon, California and the Philippines.
